This forum will be used to discuss the volunteer project that the CSRA SFPE Chapter is involved in at Mercy Ministries in Augusta, GA. A sprinkler system will be installed to protect the occupants in Mercy Ministries.

As you know, our chapter has been asked to support a local service project, Mercy Ministries in Augusta, GA. A walkdown was scheduled for and completed on May 19th, 2017. To ensure all chapter members are kept in the loop, especially over the summer in which we do not have chapter meetings, we are trying a new form of official communication- CSRA-SFPE Memos (click here). Our hope is to provide an official form of communication that can be maintained in CSRA-SFPE records. Memos will be maintained and available on the website for the duration of the project and provide an avenue to reference these communications in the future.

As of 14Jun2017, we are still waiting to hear back from Mercy Ministries on the various questions we asked. As soon as we have an answer to our questions, another correspondence will be sent out to our chapter with additional details, including a rough schedule for our involvement with the project.

As of July 24th, we are still corresponding with Mercy Ministries to try and get the information we need to move forward. Mercy Ministries has requested a drawing that details general sprinkler layouts, which we are working on to give to them. This is in an effort to give the Augusta AHJ confidence that a sprinkler system is being pursued. We'll be sure to keep everyone posted of the progress moving forward.
